Amitto Cheese Slicer

This is a universal cheese slicer from Hardanger that can be used for hard cheeses. The design is classic and cuts standard slices.

It is designed by Thor Bjørklund that was a Norwegian furniture maker who had long felt a big frustration because he could not get the thin cheese slices he wanted. With a little inspiration from the hand plane in his carpenter workshop, he invented the cheese slicer which he patented in 1925, and the cheese slicer has been a popular tool in most homes in the Nordic region ever since.
